Abstract

In field experiments conducted during the period 2014 – 2016 in the village of Skutare (district of Plovdiv) the influence of irrigation upon the degree of attack of charcoal rot on sunflower was studied. The experiment included the following treatments:

- the plants were grown without irrigation during the whole period of vegetation;

- the plants were supplied with 70–80–70% of FC in the budding, flowering and beginning of the ripening stage of growth.

The trial included also two plant densities: 5000 plants/da; 6000 plants/da.

It was established that the degree of attack of the charcoal rot on plant’s growth with irrigation is lower than without irrigation. This fact is well-pronounced during the whole period of investigation.
