PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES AND EMPLOYMENT IN EUROPE: IMPLEMENTATION OF INTERNATIONAL PRINCIPLES AND COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVES

Abstract

This article examines international practices in the legal regulation of

employment for persons with disabilities, with a focus on the European Union, the United

Kingdom, and Nordic countries. Through a comparative legal analysis, the study identifies effective

mechanisms that promote the social inclusion of persons with disabilities, such as employment

quotas, reasonable workplace accommodations, and wage subsidies. The paper also explores the

prospects of adapting these mechanisms in the Republic of Moldova, taking into account existing

legislation and current challenges in the employment of persons with disabilities. Recommendations

are provided for improving the legal framework to enhance labour market participation and social

inclusion of persons with disabilities.
