LARGE-SCALE INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN THE AREA OF FREEDOM, SECURITY AND JUSTICE

Abstract


In today's digital society, European Union citizens face a security environment characterised by constantly evolving threats. Globalisation, free movement as well as digital transformation are driving innovation and growth. All this is inextricably linked to an increase in the presence of malware, data theft, money transfer, which, in turn, is linked to money laundering. The transfer of financial flows generated by large-scale criminal activities and their use to finance terrorism, extremism or the sexual abuse of children and women pose a threat to citizens and to Europe as a whole.
