ECONOMIC GROWTH THROUGH INNOVATION FOR REGIONAL SUSTAINABILITY

Abstract


There are more and more indicators that indicate that it is necessary to rethink the views on the management of regions by uniting the efforts of education, science and business to form and develop innovations for regional sustainability. Undoubtedly, we are moving towards a new type of economy - an open regional economy - innovatively saturated, technologically integrated, computerized, robotic, informationally saturated, balanced, freed from artificial restrictions and borders. An economy based primarily on the human mind and the results of the clash of spiritual and economic needs. An economy providing economic growth through innovation for regional sustainability. In the present study, regional development is considered as a function of changes in three main areas that are the starting point for governance. The focus is on the formation and development of a regional innovation policy for sustainable development.

Five groups of innovations are investigated as a function of decisions of the entities in the region regarding: the value qualities and the potential of the management institutions in the region; the values and potential of the owners of the enterprises in the region; the value qualities and potential of consumers; public decisions related to international and national requirements for the management of regions.
