THE ROLE OF REGIONAL OPEN-AIR MUSEUMS IN AGROTOURISM
Abstract
: In the modern world, the massive introduction of technologies, the rapid pace of industrialization and the urban development of cities, on the one hand, have raised the level of socio-economic life, on the other hand, they have burdened the working environment of people, in some cases, it has made it stressful and had a negative impact on the psychological mood of individuals. A certain part of the society has developed a need to relax away from the city, in quiet and cozy places, during their free time from work.
Agritourism has taken an important place in the tourism industry. Currently, agrotourism is popular in European and American countries.
Georgia is traditionally an agrarian country, and the culture of recreation in rural conditions for its population was established a long time ago. Therefore, all conditions exist for the development of agrarian tourism in Georgia.
Cultural and mineral resources are one of the fundamental bases for the formation of tourist products in modern agrarian tourism (Dolikashvili, 2021:477). Museums play an important role among these resources. It is hard to imagine a tourist package that does not include several museums among cultural attractions.
Tourist companies and agencies design tours in cooperation with world famous and leading museums. On the other hand, lesser-known museums try to present the museum as an object of sightseeing in the tourist itineraries (Meskhia, 2019:489).
