ROMA GHETTOIZED URBAN STRUCTURES: BARRIER OR OPPORTUNITY FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT?
Abstract
Roma ghettoized urban structures have long been a persistent social and urban issue, shaped by social isolation and economic marginalization. They raise questions about the future of sustainable urban development: are they an insurmountable barrier, or can they become an opportunity for social and economic transformation? The results of a qualitative study conducted under the project “Spatial Models of Roma Ghettoized Urban Structures in Bulgaria”, funded by the National Science Fund at the Ministry of Education and Science, will attempt to address these questions.
