Abstract

Applying alternative methods to control pests as Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa L., Thrips tabaci Lindeman, Myzus persicae Sulzer, Agrotis segetum Denis & Schiffermüller, Euxoa temera Hübner, Heliothis armigera Hübner and Phthorimaea operculella Zeller, will help to protect the beneficial entomofauna by one side, and from another a pure raw material for tobacco industry. The aim of this paper is to emphasize the main pests of tobacco in Bulgaria and environmentally prospects for their limiting. Applying bio-environmental methods and approaches at the right moment would lead to a more sustainable environment for beneficial species, in order to limit the harmful ones below the threshold of economic noxiousness.
