The subject of research in this paper is the formation of the economy as a separate scientific field under the name political economy in the end of 18th century until the beginning of the 19th century. The subject of the study is the changes that occur in the methodology, ideas and interpretation of the main economic categories in the field of the classical political economy in work of David Ricardo and Thomas Robert Malthus. On this basis, the aim of the work is to highlight the main views of the economic life of society in England and France from the end of 18th century until the beginning of the 19th century.References
