YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT: CAUSES AND MEASURES TO OVERCOME

Abstract

The article examines the main causes of youth unemployment in Bulgaria and possible measures to overcome it, putting emphasis on active policy of the state. Difficulties encountered by young people in finding suitable employment derive primarily from the low level of education, vocational training, insufficient or inaccurate professional orientation and lack of work experience. In this connection it is necessary to create opportunities for young people to receive appropriate training to assist them in finding employment, the provision of post-employment and integration into society.
