CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE OF ARAPOVSKI MONASTERY "ST. NEDELYA"
Abstract
The article presents Arapovski monastery "Sveta Nedelya" as an interesting but somewhat forgotten tourist resource. The only monastery built during the Ottoman rule, played an important role in maintaining in wakefulness the national consciousness of Bulgarians from this region. What attaches a great historical value to Arapovski monastery is that there has been founded a local secret revolutionary committee, headed by the abbot and repeatedly became a refuge for Levski. Detailed information is provided about the origin, history, architecture, the activity over the years in the monastery, as well as the traditional church council, which is held every year.
Key words: cultural-historical heritage, tourism
