DIGITALIZATION AND INNOVATION IN MOLDOVA'S E-COMMERCE PAYMENT SYSTEMS: OPPORTUNITIES AND RISKS

Abstract

This work is dedicated to the study of digitalization and innovations in the online payment systems of Moldova, analyzing their opportunities and risks. The paper examines the evolution and current state of payment systems, ranging from traditional bank transfers and plastic cards to the implementation of digital cash, mobile payments, and blockchain technologies. Special attention is given to the impact of fintech solutions, artificial intelligence, and regulatory initiatives on improving the efficiency, security, and accessibility of payment services. The comparative analysis of various systems presented in the study allows for an assessment of their influence on the development of e-commerce and the financial sector in Moldova, highlighting key advantages and potential risks in the context of global digital transformation.
