THE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER AND HIS ROLE IN THE PROGRESS OF CO-TEACHING IN THE EDUCATION OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS

The implementation of a successful educational process for children and students with special educational needs requires pedagogical specialists to provide new teaching methods. It is necessary to provide conditions enabling all students to study together in a common classroom and participate fully in extracurricular activities, regardless of their abilities and disabilities. It is necessary for the general education school to change to be able to accept and respond to the needs not only of the student with special needs, but also of every difference. The resource teacher is a key figure in the inclusion process. The model for joint teaching (co-teaching), in which the special educator participates in the learning process alongside the general education teacher, is becoming more and more popular. Co-teaching is an approach that provides specialized support to individual students in the educational process, but is also a prerequisite for increasing the academic achievements of each individual student.
The article examines co-teaching and its role in the education of students with special educational needs in the primary stage of education.References
