Abstract

The regulation of e-commerce in Moldova, conducted within the framework of national legislation, does not always keep pace with the rapid changes in the digital economy. The aim of this scientific work is to analyze the current legal regulation of e-commerce in the Republic of Moldova, identify existing gaps and contradictions, and develop recommendations for improving the legislative framework in line with modern digital market realities and European standards. The study examines the main normative acts governing e-commerce in Moldova, conducts a comparative analysis with European Union legislation, and explores the approaches of specialized international organizations to the definition and regulation of e-commerce. Particular attention is given to the necessity of harmonizing national legislation with EU norms to facilitate Moldova's integration into the international digital space. Implementing the recommendations derived from the study will help eliminate existing barriers, promote the rapid development of e-commerce, and strengthen the Republic of Moldova's position in the global digital market.
