AN ATTEMPT OF DETERMINING THE PLACE OF GLOBAL CITIES IN THE WORLD TOURIST SYSTEM

Abstract

The development of contemporary tourism is directly related to the process of globalization. Global cities are huge centers of attraction for international tourist flows. They play a very important role in cultural, MICE, and sports tourism. They contribute to a great extend for generating some of the mightiest tourist flows in the world. Many global cities are centres of international tourist exhibitions which attract a great number of companies and consumers. It is suggested that the employees of the Bulgarian tourist industry use the enormous opportunities of advertising and recruitment of customers that exist in global cities more actively.
