REGIONAL "LIVING" LABS - SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND INNOVATION IN A "QUADRUPLE HELIX"

The paper presents main aspects in building regional “living” labs within the
framework of the partnership in the European University Alliances. The application of the concept
of “living” labs in an educational and scientific context is considered as a tool for “open”
innovations in the so-called “quadruple helix”. Recommendations are presented regarding the
development of the concept and the implementation of activities in the processes of institutional
transformation in the field of research and innovation in higher education institutions in
contemporary society.
