REPRESENTATION OF TOURISM IN LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS - REVIEW OF MUNICIPALITIES FROM THE CROSS-BORDER REGION IN NORTH MACEDONIA
Abstract
The subject of this paper is the representation of tourism in local economic development programs that will be discussed through the review of municipalities from the cross-border region in North Macedonia. Regional tourism development will be presented through tables that cover basic tourism data for East, Southeast and Northeast regions, regional development programs and local economic development programs. Through the analysis of strategic goals, the differences in the regional tourism development in the cross-border regions of North Macedonia will be identified. For the purpose of the paper, a research methodology and secondary data sources have been used by consulting relevant literature, internet and development programs concerning tourism. The paper concluding remarks refer to the systematic evaluation of the content of the documents, the goals, priorities and measures related to tourism in the regional and local development programs in North Macedonia.
