Abstract

The research problem of this report is what is the digitalization of agriculture, how to measure the digitalization of different organizations in agriculture, what are the critical factors to increase digitalization in the modern stage of development. The purpose of the publication is to highlight trends and identify some of the main issues in this sector.

Some of the methods that are used in the report are consideration, specification and solidarity with research on the current problem, as well as specification of new perspectives to explain and predict the facts.

The key results are that in the process of digitization of production, to achieve greater efficiency in production through the use of modern technologies, will contribute to increasing the sustainability of the sector. The arguments for this are that Bulgaria and Europe need a cleaner and more efficient agriculture and it is digital technologies that should be supported for implementation in agriculture in the form of investments and subsidies.

In conclusion, we will emphasize that the introduction of modern digital technologies and agricultural practices will attract young people to the industry, which will slow down the processes of depopulation of the vulnerable rural regions of Bulgaria.
