FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM MANAGEMENT AND THE SOURCES FOR ITS FINANCING

Abstract

The health system is extremely important for the economic development of the country. It has a significant impact on human capital, on the quantity and quality of working and leisure time needed to produce other goods for human development. The financing of the healthcare system is crucial for the economic prosperity and well-being of the society and is a priority of every state policy. Optimal funding leads to maximizing the benefits for both the individual and society. The purpose of the publication is to characterize the main sources of funding for health care and on this basis to draw conclusions about their advantages and disadvantages in order to make recommendations for improving the health care system in Bulgaria.
