Abstract

Consumer protection to unfair commercial practices and poor quality and dangerous to health goods is carried out at national level by the Commission for Consumer Protection, which is a public body and by the National Council on Consumer Protection, which is an advisory body. At municipal level that protection was attributed to municipal authorities. At the level of civil society that protection is provided by the consumer associations, some of them are required to be representative on the basis of certain criteria. Currently in the country there are ten such associations, but only three of them show some activity. Problems associated with the activities of organizations of consumer protection are bound to their insufficient funding. As a result, these organizations can not implement effective action on consumer awareness about their rights and how to protect them, and to build an image of associations that protect, not only sanctioned. In this context, the author presents some recommendations to improve the system of consumer protection.
