Abstract

The survey is one of the first in Bulgaria on this increasingly hot topic conducted within the framework of a scientific project with the participation of students studying Economic in tourism in University of agribusiness and rural development. The object of the study are people in the so-called “third” age (the age group, denoted 60+). The subject are the tourist activities of people in this age group. The main method of collecting information is the questionnaire. The research work during the study allows students to apply the knowledge of tourism disciplines in practice and develops their teamwork skills. Its conduct can also be considered as an approximation of the chosen research method. On the basis of this study, a profile of the silver tourist in Bulgaria is outlined. Its results can be useful for the tourist business in the country.
