STUDY OF SAMPLES OF THE NATIONAL COLLECTION MILLET PANICUM MILIACEUM L. GROWN AS CEREALS FOR FIRST CULTURE IN CENTRAL SOUTH BULGARIA

Abstract

The experiment is set in the years 2010, 2011 and 2012 in the experimental field of IPGR Sadovo. The aim of the study was with the help of introduced materials from the national collection millet to explore the possibilities for their implementation in the production of millet samples that have showed results above the standard of Bulgaria. There were studied 12 samples, 6 of them were early ripen and 6 were with a longer vegetation. It was found that for three years, the average yield from experience is 279.61 kg / da and then there were found 99,110,020 and № 169. On average, for the three years period from them there was obtained the yield of 349.00 kg / da and 339.67 kg / da and that exceed the standard with 89.92 kg / da and 80.59 kg / da or with 34.71% and 31.10%. Number 99110020 is characterized with stability and the yield for the three years of testing variation is only 11 kg / da or only 3.15% of average yield, which is an excellent indicator of this culture. These two samples are fit for direct introduction into production.
