ECONOMIC EDUCATION IN BULGARIA AS PART OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING: HISTORY, STRUCTURE, AND MANAGEMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF DECENTRALIZATION
Abstract
The present report examines the development, structure, and managerial challenges of economic education as part of vocational education in Bulgaria. The historical roots of vocational and economic education are explored, including the role of trade and industrial chambers and the development of commercial schools. The focus is placed on the impact of decentralization on the management and financing of economic schools. The report analyzes the delegated budget system and highlights the lack of a clear connection between financing and education quality, as well as challenges related to regional disparities and limited resources. In conclusion, the report emphasizes the importance of additional reforms for the sustainable development of economic education.
